What is the difference between an executive portrait and a corporate headshot?

An executive portrait session goes beyond the traditional head-and-shoulders headshot to create a more versatile collection of professional images. Sessions may include headshots as well as three-quarter and full-length portraits, photographed sitting and standing, with multiple poses, expressions, and looks. The goal is to create polished images that reflect your leadership, personality, and professional presence.

Corporate headshots are typically more standardized, focusing primarily on consistent head-and-shoulders portraits for a company website, directory, or team.

What should I wear for my executive portrait?

For your executive portrait session, choose clothing that feels polished, professional, and true to your personal style. Fit is especially important—clothing that fits properly through the shoulders, waist, sleeves, and pant length will look more polished and flattering on camera. Avoid pieces that are overly tight, too loose, or require frequent adjusting.

Solid colors, well-tailored pieces, and classic layers such as jackets or blazers photograph especially well. Because we may create headshots along with three-quarter, seated, standing, and full-length portraits, I recommend bringing a few options to give us variety. You’ll receive a detailed wardrobe guide before your session with tips on fit, colors, accessories, and what to bring.

Studio sessions offer a clean, polished look with a variety of background options, while on-location sessions can incorporate your office, workplace, or another setting that complements your professional image. We’ll discuss your goals during the planning process and choose the setting that works best for you.

Yes. Executive portrait sessions are designed to give you a versatile collection of images, so we can photograph multiple looks, backgrounds, and poses during your session. Depending on your session and location, we may incorporate wardrobe changes, different backgrounds or settings, and a variety of seated and standing portraits. We’ll plan these options in advance so your final gallery gives you a range of polished images for different professional uses.

Do you provide posing and expression guidance?

Absolutely. You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do in front of the camera—that’s my job. I’ll guide you throughout the session with clear direction for posing, posture, hand placement, and expression so you look confident, natural, and approachable. We’ll create a variety of seated and standing portraits with expressions ranging from warm and relaxed to more polished and authoritative.

Is professional hair and makeup available?

Yes. Professional hair and makeup services can be arranged for your session. We’ll discuss your preferred look during the planning process and coordinate services that help you feel polished, confident, and camera-ready.

How will I select and receive my finished portraits?

After your session, you’ll receive a private online gallery where you can review your photographs and select your favorites. Your chosen images will then be professionally retouched and delivered through a downloadable online gallery in both high-resolution and web-ready formats.
