Tween Model Photography Session in Dallas
I recently finished editing Charlotte’s modeling session, and she was fantastic in front of the camera.
Charlotte has a great combination of natural confidence, personality, and an all-American look that gave us plenty of variety throughout the shoot.
Creating a Natural Model Portfolio
For Charlotte’s session, I wanted the photographs to feel polished while still looking natural and age-appropriate.
Rather than creating one highly styled look, we photographed a variety of expressions, compositions, and outfits. This gives a young model a more versatile collection of images and allows agencies to see more than one side of her personality.
Her mom was considering submitting Charlotte’s photographs to modeling agencies, and these images gave her a strong collection to begin exploring that possibility.
Lifestyle Images for Young Models
In addition to traditional portraits, we created lifestyle photographs with a more relaxed feel.
For tween and teen models, I especially like photographs that don’t feel overly posed or overly mature. The goal is to photograph who they are now while still creating professional images that can help show their potential in front of the camera.
Modeling Photos vs. Agency Digitals
If you’re considering submitting your child or teen to a modeling agency, it’s important to check each agency’s current submission requirements first.
Some agencies initially ask for simple modeling digitals or snapshots rather than finished portfolio photographs. These are straightforward images designed to clearly show the model’s current appearance.
Portfolio and model-test photographs serve a different purpose. They can demonstrate personality, movement, expression, and how someone photographs in different situations.

The session was photographed using natural light, with white and black foam core used to shape and control the light.
